From Research to Flavour Innovation: INBIOWAL Meets JAR Aromaty

On 4 December 2025, representatives of the INBIOWAL project had the opportunity to visit the headquarters and production facility of JAR Aromaty, a leading Polish flavour house based in Warsaw. JAR Aromaty is a family-owned company with over 45 years of tradition in creating and producing high-quality food flavours and additives, supplying liquid and powdered flavourings, essential oils, and food colourings for diverse applications in bakery, confectionery, dairy, beverages, and more.
Project Presentation and Discussions
During the visit, the INBIOWAL team presented the project’s objectives, ongoing research activities, and key scientific outputs. Particular attention was paid to the project’s work on aroma and odour compounds derived from waste streams, an area that generated significant interest among the JAR Aromaty team. This topic aligns with the company’s focus on flavour innovation and its long-standing expertise in flavour creation and application.
Constructive discussions were held on potential pathways for collaboration between academia and industry, particularly in analysing bio-based odour compounds and their utilisation in flavour development and sensory science.
Sensory Panel and Facility Tour
As part of the programme, the INBIOWAL delegation participated in a sensory panel session that showcased JAR Aromaty’s approach to evaluating flavour profiles, consumer perception, and quality assessment techniques. Participants also had a guided tour of the production hall and analytical laboratories, gaining insight into the company’s advanced manufacturing processes and quality control systems that ensure consistency, safety, and product performance.
Interest in Future Collaboration
The visit concluded with mutual expressions of interest in further engagement. Representatives of JAR Aromaty highlighted their interest in the scientific results produced by INBIOWAL, especially in relation to utilising volatile compounds from waste sources for innovative flavour solutions. Both sides recognised the value of deepening dialogue and exploring joint research activities that bridge industrial needs with cutting-edge academic research.
