Rational Design of Deep Eutectic Solvents for Life Science Applications

APRIL 16, 2026

Overview

As part of the INBIOWAL project, an international webinar titled “Rational Design of Deep Eutectic Solvents for Life Science Applications” will take place on 16 April 2026 from 13:00 to 16:00 CET.

The webinar is organized by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology and will bring together researchers working on innovative approaches to the design and application of deep eutectic solvents (DES) in life sciences and biotechnology.

During the session, invited speakers from leading research institutions will present recent advances in computational approaches, artificial intelligence, molecular modeling, and applied biotechnology related to the rational design of DES and natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES). The webinar will provide an opportunity to explore how these emerging solvent systems can support developments in biotechnology, food science, and sustainable bio-based processes.

The event is open to researchers, students, and professionals interested in green chemistry, biotechnology, computational modeling, and life science applications of novel solvents.

Webinar Objectives

The main objectives of the webinar are:

  • to present recent scientific developments in the rational design of deep eutectic solvents

  • to explore the role of computational tools and artificial intelligence in predicting and optimizing solvent systems

  • to discuss biotechnological and life science applications of DES and NADES

  • to facilitate knowledge exchange between researchers from different institutions and countries

  • to promote collaboration within the INBIOWAL research network

Who Can Participate

The webinar is open to a broad audience interested in modern approaches to sustainable solvents and biotechnology.

Participation is particularly relevant for:

  • researchers working in biotechnology, chemistry, and life sciences

  • doctoral and master’s students interested in green chemistry and bioprocess engineering

  • professionals from biotechnology, food science, and pharmaceutical sectors

  • participants involved in computational chemistry, modeling, and AI-based research

Participation in the webinar is free of charge, but registration is required.
